Warner Bros. Entertainment
Warner Brothers is an American Film Company that was founded in April 4, 1923 (91 years ago) by Albert Warner, Harry Warner, Sam Warner and Jack Warner. Their first film was produced in 1910 called 'My Four Years in Germany' and the company became well-known to the public after they had continued producing films during theWorld War 1 such as ''The Lost City'', ''School Days'' and ''Rags to Riches'' and when World War 1 ended in 1918 they had built their first studio in Los Angeles. 2 years later in 1920, the brothers opened their second WB studio in Hollywood. In the 30s, the WB Company was becoming more notable for gangster and violent films after releasing "The Public Enemy" (1931), "Little Caesar" (1931), ''G Men" (1935) and "Bullets or Ballots" (1936). So the audience group changed for a while from family and children viewers to "men in their mid 30s-50s" viewers. All these films included some sort of violence and fighting using weapons such as guns influenced by the Great War. Recently in 2009, Warners became the first studio to gross more than $2 billion in North America. I think if the WB Company was founded in 2014, the WB Company would not be successful as it is today. The reason why I think the WB Company is successful as it is today is because in the time period of 1900s-1940s there were rarely any film companies to compete with as there were not that many film companies and not many people had the money to actually go and watch films. Also with the power of the boom in the 1920s, many Americans had the money to go to the cinemas to watch a film during the week-end and this became really trendy which helped WB Company to become in the lead in-front of all these other companies and this gave WB Company the profit to go and produce more films and the opportunity to become bigger in the film industry. Another reason why I don't think the WB Company would of be famous as it is today is because there are already big companies such as the 20th Century Fox Television, DreamWorks, Paramount and Universal.
