Stereotypes of races and ethnicities

Definition of ethnicity:
1. Ethnic traits, background, allegiance or association.
2. An ethnic group: Representitives of several ethnicities were present.

Common negative stereotypes of the following races:
Black people:
- criminals
- scary/intimidating/violent 
- on welfare/needs help by the government 
- stupid/dumb/uneducated
- overly sexual 
- living in the slums 
- carries weapons
- drug users 

White people:
- moist 
- chavs/pikey
- dumb blondes
- sluts
- greedy
- tight

Asian people: 
- stingy
- no shame
- ignorant
- smells
- can't speak English properly 
- funny accents

Gypsies: 
- chavvy
- thieves
- lacking in education 
- not smartly dresses (tracksuits/vests/jeans)
- fun fairs 

Polish people: 
- cheap labour 
- poor 
- young families 
- owns kebab, chicken and pizza shops/restaurants 
- takes our jobs away from the White English (builders/cleaners) 


Common positive stereotypes of the following races:
Black people: 
- good at sport (fast at running)
- good dancers
- rappers

White people:
- businessmen 
- posh/well spoken 
- educated 

Asian people: 
- clever 
- polite
- doctors
- owns a small business (newsagents/fast food) 
- mathematicians 

Gypsies: 
- love life 
- big party 

Polish people: 
- organised (arrving on time to work)
- clean
